Eric Corbin was born in the hills of rural West Virginia in a town so small that the entire county still to this day only has one stop light. When his parents talked about having to walk to school in the snow uphill both ways, they weren’t joking. Luckily for him he came from a musical family and discovered his calling pretty early in life. Although his tastes where always more on the heavier side, he still enjoys the sounds of old country and bluegrass.

Corbin attended West Virginia University and was the first in his family to obtain a college degree. Upon graduation he moved to Pittsburgh, PA to join a band. After a few failed band attempts he settled in with a hardcore outfit called Endless. After a few rape offers by some independent labels, he decided to start his own label, Da’ Core Records, in 1995. Da’ Core concentrated mainly on Pittsburgh’s thriving hardcore and punk scene and is still active today.

In 2002 Corbin went to work for Inside Out Music America where he took on graphic design, press and radio promotion duties. He worked his way up to Vice President in charge of Media Relations and got to work with a lot of great acts like Symphony X, King’s X, Evergrey, Kerry Livgren from Kansas, ASIA, as well as members of Dream Theater, Genesis, Yes and many other Progressive music legends.

In 2007, SPV decided to absorb Inside Out Music America and run it from their US office in Red Bank, NJ. Not willing to give up his home and move even further away from his family, he decided to stay in Pittsburgh and make go of it.

Corbin informed some of the artists that he had worked with over the years that he was starting his own independent PR company and could use some testimonials. These nice words came back…

“I had the pleasure of working with Eric Corbin during his time at Inside Out Music America. Eric will work on something until it is done – he never misses a deadline and has an extensive attention to detail. He never misses a beat and his loyalty and work ethic are second to none. He never seems to lose his passion for doing creative and effective work with a real eye to detail. Eric always had his product fully scoped, knowing its appeal and its market parameters and he always knew the key elements for alerting his audience – and even growing new audiences. He knew the product and knew the market.”

“Eric is the kind of business partner that makes everyone’s job easier. He is a sharp and precise reference for record distribution, marketing, promotion and sales. And Eric is a man of his word. His follow through and attention to detail were outstanding. I found Eric to be a passionate person who understood the music industry and used his expertise to do the right thing for his clients.”

We will miss working with him and hope that our future dealings lead us to work with him again.”
